Ideas
Ideas for Master Project 2020/21
1.) LED Make-up / LED masks / LED tattoo(?): In April I worked on a mask that had violet glowing "tear drops" attached. "The glowing teardrops, a materialized facefilter."
2.) "AT FIRST, ART IMITATES LIFE. THEN LIFE WILL IMITATE ART.": With this out of context quote by Fyodor Dostoevsky I introduce the idea of playing with "What is material? What is virtual?" The LED mask mentioned is inspired by facefilters (popular on e.g. Instagram or Snapchat).
As shown on video in combination with other filters or by itself, it was hard for some to tell, which part of the video was virtual and which was material.
3.) Experimenting with materials and electronics: With a focus on fluid matter (water, resolutions like salt water, etc.) I want to explore how to build a circut that has reduced the amount of "artificially combined/plastic" components.
Topics that I want to work with are intersecting with slightly dystopian motives.
